Privacy Policy

Athletics World Rankings (“the App”) is a mobile app provided by Cedric Dubler (“we”, “us”, “our”), based in Australia. This policy explains how the App handles information. It applies only to the Athletics World Rankings mobile app.

The short version

• No account, no sign-up. You don’t give us your name, email, or a password.
• Everything happens on your device. Scores are calculated on your phone, and what you enter is stored only there. You can erase it any time inside the App.
• The App works offline and sends nothing you enter to us or anyone else. The only network activity is the standard app-update check.
• We don’t run ads, third-party analytics, or trackers, and we never sell your data.

1. No accounts

The App works without any sign-up. We don’t ask for or hold names, email addresses, phone numbers, or passwords.

2. Information stored on your device

What you enter in the App, including your marks, planned performances, saved events, and settings, is stored locally on your device using the device’s standard app storage. It stays on your device and is not uploaded anywhere.

You can delete all of it at any time using “Erase all data” in the App’s menu, or by uninstalling the App.

3. Nothing is sent to us

The App has no backend of its own. It does not send what you enter to us, and we receive no information about you or your use of the App. Scores are calculated entirely on your device using scoring tables and rules bundled with the App.

The only network activity is a periodic check for app updates, described below.

4. Third-party services

A small number of services are involved in delivering the App itself:

• Apple App Store / Google Play: distribute the App and handle installation under their own terms and privacy policies.
• Expo / Expo Application Services: delivers app updates; your device contacts Expo’s servers to check for an update. Like every internet request, these checks include standard technical details such as your device’s IP address. We don’t receive or use this information.

Each provider handles data under its own privacy policy.

5. What we don’t do

• We don’t show advertisements.
• We don’t use third-party analytics or tracking SDKs, and we don’t track you across apps or websites.
• We don’t collect, sell, rent, or trade your information. We simply never receive it.

6. Children’s privacy

The App is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children. As the App requires no account and stores data only on the device, no personal information is collected by us.

7. Your choices and rights

Because your information stays on your device and we hold no data about you, you remain in control:

• Delete everything via “Erase all data” in the App, or by uninstalling it.
• Depending on where you live (e.g. under the Australian Privacy Principles, GDPR, or similar laws), you may have rights to access, correct, or request deletion of personal information. Since we hold no record of you, there is nothing for us to retrieve.

You can still contact us with any request.

8. Security

Your information never leaves your device, so there is no server copy of it to breach. App-update checks use encrypted HTTPS connections. No system is perfectly secure, but the App’s design, with no accounts and no collection, keeps your exposure as low as it can practically be.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We’ll revise the “Last updated” date above, and significant changes will be reflected here.
